Prepare a clash coordination review
Use existing Clash Detective results, location rules and responsibility filters to organize a focused review. Add navigation shortcuts and ACC issue review when those steps fit the project.
EZ-VDC · Autodesk Navisworks
Start with the coordination task: organize clash results, build repeatable model selections or explain an installation sequence. Choose the tool that matches that job, then check its inputs and review the output in Navisworks.
For BIM coordinators, MEP leads and VDC managers working with federated models and repeatable review packages.
14-day trial for eligible accounts. Autodesk Revit and Navisworks are purchased separately. See trial and plans
The installer includes three Navisworks products: EZ Clash Manager, EZ Search Sets and EZ 4D. EZ Navigation and EZ Issue Viewer are modules included with EZ Clash Manager, with their own workflow guides.
Use existing Clash Detective results, location rules and responsibility filters to organize a focused review. Add navigation shortcuts and ACC issue review when those steps fit the project.
When systems or types are identifiable by properties, generate native Search Sets instead of rebuilding the same property conditions one value at a time. Check the resulting members before using sets in tests.
Use model selections to define visual steps and saved viewpoints for a planning discussion. Keep contractual schedule logic in the appropriate scheduling system.
Illustrative workflow: a duct-versus-pipe review for one floor. Each stage has its own inputs and checks; the tools do not automatically pass every setting between stages.
Choose a reliable system property, inspect its unique values and generate a small set of Search Sets. Open each set and confirm the intended trade elements are present.
Read the guide: EZ Search SetsIn Navisworks Manage, select the test sets and project tolerance. Review the Clash Detective scope, then group results by the prepared level, zone or proximity rules and assign responsibility.
Read the guide: EZ Clash ManagerFilter the reviewed scope, frame readable viewpoints and export the required report or viewpoints. A grouped result still requires a technical decision; grouping does not resolve the clash.
Read the guide: EZ Clash ManagerVerify the Autodesk project and permitted assignees/statuses before creating or editing issues. Check the cloud result separately from the local model review.
Read the guide: EZ Issue ViewerHandoff check: confirm set membership, grouping scope, responsible party and readable evidence. If ACC was used, verify the intended issue in the intended project. See the product guides for the detailed commands.
The years below describe the current installer scope. Check the installation options and each tool’s requirements before use.
Organize native clash results by level, zone or proximity; assign responsibility, filter the review and prepare viewpoints or reports.

Navisworks Manage for Clash Detective. Review model location data and grouping rules; ACC is optional.
Use saved key bindings, base speed, speed multipliers and measurement or section shortcuts while reviewing the model.
User guideNavisworks 2026–2027
Included module of EZ Clash Manager; not a separate purchase. The model viewport must have keyboard focus.
Review ACC issues inside Navisworks, filter the list, locate related model content and make permitted issue edits or comments.

Included module of EZ Clash Manager; not a separate purchase. Requires Autodesk sign-in, project access and appropriate ACC permissions.
Scan unique property values and create native saved Search Sets, with value bundling, naming presets and explicit choices for existing sets.

Navisworks Manage or Simulate. Uses Equals conditions; check property names, values and resulting members.
Turn model selections into ordered installation or demolition steps, then generate saved viewpoints and play the sequence.

Preserve the adjacent .ez4d data with the model. Visual sequencing does not calculate CPM dates or dependencies.
This compares working steps. It is not a timing benchmark or a savings promise for your model.
| Task | Manual / native workflow | With the EZ-VDC plug-in |
|---|---|---|
| Property-based selections | Create and name each native search condition, then check the elements it selects. | Scan values and generate saved Search Sets using naming presets; still inspect membership and rerun choices. |
| Clash review | Use Clash Detective and native grouping/review controls, then prepare the project handoff. | Bring location/proximity rules, assignment filters, viewpoints and reporting into one review workflow. Engineering decisions remain with the team. |
| Sequence explanation | Prepare model states and saved viewpoints for each stage of the presentation. | Order selection-based steps and generate viewpoints with EZ 4D. This is visual sequencing rather than CPM schedule calculation. |
Close Revit and Navisworks. From the download page, run the EZ VDC Tools 1.2.11 installer and select the compatible applications and versions you use.
Register, confirm your email and open a tool from the Navisworks EZ Add-Ins tab. Sign in from the plug-in: the 14-day trial starts at that first plug-in sign-in, for eligible accounts.
Follow the tool’s guide with a small selection and inspect the result in the application. Your account and license determine which tools unlock; an active license is required after the trial.
Start with EZ Clash Manager for reviewing and grouping existing clash results, EZ Search Sets for repeatable property-based selections, or EZ 4D for visual installation/demolition sequences. Match the task and prerequisites before installing.
Yes. The Clash Detective workflow requires Navisworks Manage. Search Sets supports Manage or Simulate. Check the individual guide rather than assuming every tool has the same host requirements.
No. They are modules included with EZ Clash Manager. Their separate pages explain navigation and ACC issue workflows; they are not additional standalone products to buy.
No. ACC is needed for the cloud issue workflow, with the appropriate Autodesk account and project permissions. Model selections, local clash review and visual sequencing have their own local prerequisites.
No. Results depend on model data, test settings, tolerances and review decisions. Validate the output, resolve issues in the authoring model when needed and rerun the applicable tests.
Plan what to test, who reviews the finding and what evidence closes the loop.
Place issue updates within the project access and coordination process.
Separate a visual planning discussion from schedule logic and dependencies.
