The Challenge

The historic rehabilitation of a landmark 1911 building in Milwaukee required Scan-to-BIM to document a century-old structure with no accurate original drawings. The building was being converted to civic, office, and theater spaces each with different structural and MEP requirements all within a historic exterior envelope that required preservation.

Our Approach

We executed laser scanning of the full building interior and exterior, registering hundreds of scans to create a complete as-built point cloud. The Revit model was developed from this data, capturing existing column grids, floor plates, wall thicknesses, and MEP rough-in conditions. As-built coordination supported the conversion design teams with verified spatial data.

Outcome

Complete as-built BIM model of a 1911 historic structure, enabling accurate renovation design, MEP routing coordination, and code compliance verification without destructive investigation.
